Start with the symptom, not a settings change.
Keep the full model suffix and hardware revision with every support request. Similar-looking JK BMS boards can use different connectors, firmware and protection settings.
The JK BMS app cannot find the board
Check that the installed model supports Bluetooth, that the BMS is powered and that the phone has the permissions requested by the official app. Record the phone OS, app version and any connection message. Follow the Bluetooth setup guide before changing board parameters.
A cell shows zero or the wrong voltage
Do not bypass the alarm or raise protection thresholds. Stop using the pack for charging and discharging until a qualified technician checks the sense harness against the exact model's wiring diagram. Do not swap sense leads on an energized installation. Send the label photo, configured series count and a screenshot of all cell readings to support.
The inverter does not communicate with the battery
Record both device models, the selected protocol, interface used and cable label. A connector fitting physically does not establish a matching pinout. Use the model-specific CAN / RS485 guide and have the installation checked before rewiring or replacing an adapter.
The BMS will not charge or discharge
Capture the alarm list, cell voltages, temperatures, current reading and charge/discharge status without disabling protections. These observations help support distinguish a protection event, system configuration issue and a hardware fault. Do not assume that resetting or flashing the board will clear the underlying problem.
A firmware update or replacement is needed
Use the JK-PB firmware library and compatibility checklist. Firmware must match the approved hardware revision. For a replacement, send the original board and connector photos with the battery configuration; use the model comparison as a selection aid, not proof of plug-in compatibility.
